Head of Human Resources
The Head of HR will lead on the implementation of OCP Africa HR strategy
with the aim to support our ability to attract, develop, deploy and retain
talents within effective organizational structures. He/she will drive and
co-ordinate continuous improvement in HR practices across OCP Africa’s
subsidiaries.
Main Activities:
-Lead on the delivery and review of strategic and operational HR
objectives.
-Provide HR leadership and advice to OCP Africa’s senior management team
and other management staff across subsidiaries.
-Develop and maintain effective recruitment and HR business partner
relationships to meet the development needs.
-Continuously review and ensure sufficient in-house or external capacity
is in place to maintain professional recruitment, performance management and HR
systems and processes.
-Coordinate on work related to the compensation program and its
implementation, such as implementation of salary merit increases, other
compensation-related payments, inputs into the budget preparation etc.
-Analyze and resolve diverse Benefit issues as they arise, which often
requires interpretation of existing Staff Rules, guidelines, processes and
independently determining the appropriate approach.
-Liaise with Legal team to ensure satisfactory resolution of cases
requiring escalation, exception or waiver.
-Coordinate the implementation of Green Africa Project related HR
initiatives.
-Stay abreast of latest HR best practice and statutory requirements in
both.
-HR related compliance risks and support the continuous improvement in
OCP Africa’s HR practices.
-Oversee the development and review of OCP Africa’s HR systems, policies
and procedures.
-Human resource planning.
-Consult with relevant Department to resolve complex issues personally,
articulating issues and proposing possible options and implications.
-Consult with relevant Department to ensure satisfactory resolution of
cases requiring escalation, exception or waiver.
Qualifications:
-Master’s Degree in Human Resources, Management, Business
Administration or Other Related fields.
-10 years of experience in HR field with at least 8 years at a
regional/continental level.
-Ability to meet deadlines under pressure, often balancing conflicting
and sometimes changing priorities.
-Quickly establish credibility and respect and build strong working
relationships with colleagues.
-Outstanding interpersonal skills including people-management,
leadership and both written and verbal communication skills.
-Extensive experience & comprehension of
-Analytical ability, practical problem-solving skills and
resourcefulness in performing varied tasks.
-Good understanding of compensation policies and programs in HR and its
related IT systems.
-Strong analytical skills, demonstrated ability to conduct research and
analysis.
-Proactively anticipate on presented issues and recommend solutions to
help management in decision-making.
-Proficient in Microsoft Windows applications.
-Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize and deliver
assignments in a timely manner often under time pressure.
-Ability to handle very sensitive HR matters with agility and tact.
-Strong negotiation skills.
-Fluent in English and French.
Head of Agronomy
The Head of Agronomy manages the Agronomy Unit of OCP Africa. His/her
main focus is to develop and maintain the company’s understanding and knowledge
of the soil specificities and needs as well as agricultural practices,
policies, approaches, innovations, regional and international institutions
involved in the sector across the continent.
In addition to these activities, the Head of Agronomy, and his/her
teams, will work in close coordination with the other department of OCP Africa,
country offices, the ecosystem of OCP Group & UM6P to contribute to the
development of appropriate products and services to serve the farmers needs and
increase the use of fertilizers throughout the continent.
Main Activities
-Providing overall leadership, management oversight and direction on all
programs and activities related to Agronomy.
-Coordinates studies on soil characteristics, crop production and farmer
needs and practices in order to discern the best ways to plant, harvest,
cultivate and fertilize the plants regardless of the climate in the different
regions of
-Proposing strategic orientations and contributes to the annual
strategic review led by the Business Development
-Validating teams’ findings and reports to the Agronomists’ and
R&D’s communities
-Building and managing key partnerships with local R&D institutes
and key scientific partners, in close coordination with the OCP R&D
organization
-Contributing to commercial, marketing and business development
initiatives or projects
-Enhance and maintain a close collaboration with the regions and the
sales for the development of new adapted fertilizer formulas;
-Create harmonized synergies between OCP Africa, its subsidiaries, the
University Mohammed VI Polytechnic, and all partners; as well as upholding
smooth interactions with the academic / institutes actors of agricultural
research’s field;
-Manage the business intelligence related to the agronomic development
that can have an impact on OCP
-Lead the development, implementation and evaluation of partnership
agreements with governments, public & private institutions, international
organizations
-Supervise preparation of various written outputs (papers, studies &
reports)
-Contribute actively on agronomy related meetings and conferences.
Qualifications:
-Advanced University degree in agriculture, crop science, agronomy or
related field (PhD, Master).
-Relevant experience in technical related activities, policy advice and
analysis related to food and nutrition security, agriculture and rural
development.
-Relevant experience in program/project formulation, analysis, planning
and implementing.
-Excellent scientific networking skills.
-Extensive experience in agrochemical field.
-Outstanding statistics and mathematical skills.
-Already worked in a multinational/multicultural team will be an asset.
-Excellent project management skills with ability to show leadership in
motivating diverse teams.
-Extensive comprehension of
-Working knowledge in English & French.
